Magic of Thinking Big
This is the book I’m currently reading. It is a classic and one that has helped millions of people. I highly suggest it.
“The Magic of Thinking Big gives you useful methods, not empty promises. Dr. Schwartz presents a carefully designed program for getting the most out of your job, your marriage and family life, and your community. He proves that you don’t need to be an intellectual or have innate talent to attain great success and satisfaction—but you do need to learn and understand the habit of thinking and behaving in ways that will get you there. This book gives you those secrets!”
Can you do these 8 things before 8am? Me neither but even if you can adopt one I think you’ll improve the quality of your life.
Should vs. Must
“The only thing that changes our life long term is when we change our standards. All of us in life have things that we want. We don’t get what we want, we get what we have to have. We all get what we tolerate – in ourselves and other people. But when you’re no longer willing to tolerate something, that’s when your life changes. The difference in people is their standards, period. And what do I mean by standards? Everyone in the world has a list of things that they should do.
I should lose weight, I should work out. I should spend more time with my kids. I should work harder. I should make more calls. I should I should I should. Then people don’t do their shoulds and they get mad at themselves and they beat themselves up about it. What changes people is when your should becomes a must. When suddenly the thing you said should happen HAS to happen. That’s when human beings change. It’s amazing when it’s a must versus a should – that’s what makes human beings succeed.” -Tony Robbins
