Tiny Desk, No Phone, Harry’s Razors

NPR Tiny Desk Concerts (guest post written by E.S)

Three to four song concerts recorded live at a tiny desk for NPR.  A fun way to get introduced to new music.  I play these through the YouTube on my Apple TV when I’m reading or working and want some background TV/noise.  There’s music for everyone, but here are three of my favorites to get you started:

1) Sturgill Simpson (Link)

2) Leon Bridges (Link)

3) Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats (Link)

No Phone Challenge

Have you ever accidentally left your phone at home for the day?  There is a sudden surge of panic as you realize it halfway to your destination – how will I make it through the day?!  Then you realize throughout the day how many times and how frequently you unknowingly reach for your phone.  At some point there is a sense of relief and calm that comes over you and you are pleasantly surprised to not be tethered to your phone.  This weekend, turn your phone off (yes, on purpose) for just four hours.  Pick any four hours (while you’re awake) but turn it off and put it away – then begin to observe what happens. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Harry’s Razors (Guest recommendation from G.F.)

Harry’s was built out of respect for quality craftsmanship, simple design, modern convenience and most importantly for guys who know they shouldn’t have to overpay for a great shave.”
