Guroo (Reader submission from K.B.):
Guroo was created to provide patients with more intel about medical procedures and the associated health care costs. On the site you’re able to search for nearly any medical procedure and find out the range of costs in your state as well as surrounding states. It walks through what to expect in a surgery and the associated costs with each part. I looked up a few procedures and you can click here to see an example of one (coronary angioplasty with drug-eluting stent).
State and Liberty Dress Shirts (Reader submission from T.B.):
This one is a guest recommendation and although I haven’t tried the product, I trust the guest poster implicitly. Take a look at the description from S&L website below – I’m going to give these a shot.
“Off the rack dress shirts are built for the masses. We are making dress shirts for the athletically built without the costs and inconvenience of custom tailoring. With room in the shoulders, chest and arms along with a tailored waist and back darts, State & Liberty dress shirts reward those that have an athletic build. Our shirts provide a tailored fit that hugs the body and our fabric makes this fit comfortable.”
Don’t Shoot the Dog
This is a great book to understand the behaviors of people and animals alike and how we can learn or teach new behaviors. Here is an excerpt describing the book.
“A groundbreaking behavioral scientist and dynamic animal trainer, Karen Pryor is a powerful proponent of the principles and practical uses of positive reinforcement in teaching new behaviors. Here are the secrets of changing behavior in pets, kids—even yourself—without yelling, threats, force, punishment, guilt trips…or shooting the dog:
Learn why pet owners rave, “This book changed our lives!” and how these pioneering techniques can work for you too.”
